COUNTRY ESTATE WEDDING IN SURREY

October 18, 2017

A lovely Wednesday in August saw the beautiful wedding celebrations of Singto and Charles at the exquisite Northbrook Park wedding venue in Farnham, Surrey.

FIRST CONTACT

Singto first contacted me in March to enquire about wedding day management / assistance.  I had been recommended to them by a wedding photographer.  They were living in Nigeria and they were both moving to London in the May.  I had a lovely skype chat with Singto which was followed up by a phone call from Charles when he arrived in the UK.

NEXT STEPS

To cut a long story short they booked my ‘wedding day management’ option in the May ahead of their August wedding.  As with all of my services, this was tailored to their exact requirements.  We had a couple of catch-ups before the wedding including a full day in detail meeting over Skype.

I love a country estate wedding and sometimes I quite like being thrown in to coordinate suppliers I haven’t worked with before and run a wedding in a totally different location.  Northbrook Park was a beautiful setting with peacocks in the garden and a real tranquil feel.  This year I have travelled all over the country and have absolutely loved it.  I’ve met some absolutely amazing suppliers and people, as well as working in some stunning locations.

THE WEDDING DAY

I travelled down to Farnham in Surrey the afternoon before and stayed in a hotel within 10 minutes of the venue so that I was recharged and on the doorstep the next day.

On arrival at Northbrook Park, I went to find the bride who had arrived and was getting ready in one of the Mews Cottages on site at Northbrook.  It was lovely to finally meet Singto in person as well.  A couple of her bridesmaids were on hand as well with orders of service and everything I needed to setup.  The lovely Chloe gave me a quick tour and then it was all systems go to get everything setup for their 3 pm wedding ceremony in the Vine Room which was to have 180 guests.  The florists arrived and did their magic in the ceremony room and order of services, reserved seating were put down.  They left the buttonholes and bouquets for me to allocate as well.

The caterers had started setting for the wedding breakfast in the orangery and I finished off putting down the place cards, table numbers etc.   Then the fabulous Elle arrived with the cake –  a naked cake with a botanical vibe going on.  I’ve seen a lot of wedding cakes and I have to say this was absolutely one of my favourites.   Her attention to detail was incredible and a really lovely genuine person as well.

It was then a case of making sure the seating plan was in position, their guest book as well as assisting where needed.

I had been warned that Nigerian weddings never run to time so I was over the moon when the ceremony only started 25 minutes late and we later pulled back the time with their first dance being spot on!

Singto looked absolutely stunning in her dress, I just loved the neckline on it.  Her hair and makeup were stunning as well, I so envy a bride that can do her hair like this by herself!  It was nice to see the men in pale suits as well, it all really worked well with the natural country feel of the wedding.

The ceremony was just lovely.  The staff at Northbrook were really helpful and coordinated the entrance music and I then took over for the rest of the ceremony.  They had a celebrant conduct the ceremony.  She made it very personal to them and their friends sang as Singto walked down the aisle with her 2 guardians.  Such a beautiful warm ceremony.

Photographs followed and guests made their way through to the Nun’s Gardens for drinks, scrumptious canapes and lawn games.  At this point, I had to move around 40 chairs out of the Vine Room into the orangery as well as the flowers.  Two of Singto’s lovely bridesmaids also helped with the table centres.

The main members of the bridal party entered the orangery for the wedding breakfast fantastically, such a fun wedding full of music and laughter.

Their MC kept everybody entertained between courses, announced speeches, cutting of the cake and the first dance as well as a couple of games.

My work ended at about 9.30 pm on this one ahead of a long journey back to Lincolnshire.

A really fantastic wedding to be part of where I met some amazing suppliers including the lovely Lucie (florist), Elle (cake) and of course their amazing and super chilled photographer Allister Freeman.
