LEICESTERSHIRE AUTUMNAL WEDDING

November 22, 2016

A beautiful autumnal Saturday in October saw the elegant and candlelit country estate wedding of the gorgeous Sarah and Luke at Stapleford Park in Leicestershire.

Sarah contacted me 10 months before their wedding, after a lovely recommendation from one of her suppliers.  She wanted a wedding professional to provide wedding day management as well as a little bit of support / assistance along the way.  As with all of my weddings, a bespoke package was put together for them.  Sarah’s vision was candlelight and pretty florals in neutral tones, with a really natural and romantic feel.

Why did you choose Amy as your wedding planner?
Amy was highly recommended to us by our flower supplier Sophie.  We wanted someone on the day who could manage this and also someone who takes pride in their work and who would be passionate about our wedding.

A few weeks prior to their wedding we had a thorough Day in Detail meeting at Stapleford Park.  All of their suppliers were then contacted and a bespoke timeline created outlining every aspect of the day so that everything was covered.  This was sent to the relevant suppliers, so important to ensure that photographers / videographers have enough time to capture what they need to.

What did you enjoy most about working with Amy?
Nothing was too much trouble, Amy was absolutely amazing from the first email I ever sent her!  Amy is kind, relatable, passionate, has an amazing eye for detail and really did understand the picture I had in my head for the big day!

What memories will you always cherish about your wedding planning?
Our amazing suppliers!  Nothing was too much trouble, Amy completely ran the run up to our wedding and I cannot thank her enough for her amazing effort.

On the day of Sarah and Luke’s wedding I arrived bright and early and went straight to see Sarah and her bridal party in the lovely cottage onsite to check they were all OK.  A number of items needed to be taken over to the Orangery and Grand Hall to setup, including table numbers, place name cards, gifts and a few other bits and pieces.  When I got to  the Grand Hall, there were boxes of tealights and lanterns that all needed setting up.  The next couple of hours was spent sorting this out for them, as well as greeting any suppliers that arrived.

The Orangery at Stapleford Park looked just beautiful with all of the candles lit, hydrangeas on the aisle seats and pretty petals lining the aisle.  Dreamy drapes, vases of flowers and lanterns just made this perfect for their intimate ceremony.  Timeless elegance really was the vibe they were after and this was certainly created.  After the ceremony, canapes and drinks were served in the gorgeous gardens before lots of photos and video opportunities.

Once guests were seated in the Grand Hall for the wedding breakfast, Sarah and Luke were announced in to enjoy their first meal together as husband and wife.  Following this were great speeches, followed by the cutting of the (best tasting) cake ever.  First dance (My Destiny by Lionel Richie), dancing, photobooth fun (by the lovely Chloe at Snapcandy) and sparkler arches went on into the evening.

What part of your wedding day did you most enjoy?
Seeing Luke as I walked up the aisle!!!

The whole day was just perfect for Sarah and Luke.  A couple that are just so great together and this really showed in the fantastic photos that were taken by Rachael Connerton.  It is the first time I have worked with Rachael and Ian.  Unfortunately, our paths had never crossed before and as I expected they were a dream to work with and really added so much to Sarah and Luke’s day and it would be  great to work with them moving forward.  It was lovely to work with Nick Grove again who videoed their wedding as well as the always fantastic Sophie’s Flower Co.  Some of Rachael’s great photos are below and I can’t wait to see some more very soon – I just love the one of their knees touching during the ceremony – just gorgeous.  I’m also very much looking forward to seeing the video in due course as well:-

What advice would you give to a bride whilst planning her wedding?
Hire Amy…..she is amazing!  Do not overthink anything on your day, just take it all in and enjoy every minute!

A great bridal party were also on board to assist Sarah and Luke with their preparations, a real must for every bride and groom.  Having me there as well, ensured that they could spend time with them and know that I was liaising direct with their venue to ensure everything ran seamlessly on their wedding day.  It is those little details such as ensuring the place cards are in the correct places, gifts in the right positions, reserve seating signs out for the ceremony, cake in the right spot, every candle lit, tables in the right order with the correct amount of place settings, items moved from the ceremony to wedding breakfast, chairs positioned correctly, cards, gifts, marriage certificate and guest books put away safely in the bridal suite, assisting with bustling the dress (with mum’s help – thank you), pinning on buttonholes, keeping as close to the timeline as you can without it appearing regimented.  It really is all of those details, taken care of discretely that ensures a great wedding day.
