FIRST UK BEACH WEDDING IN BOURNEMOUTH

Hi everybody

The sunshine has just come out here, when will the summer start?  This time last year it was beautiful as it was Easter weekend with the royal wedding the weekend after.

With weather in mind, something nobody can predict, it is just a case of having contingencies in place to ensure that even in the wettest weather a wedding day isn’t totally washed out.  This is where planning is so important to cover every eventuality.

This Friday (27 April 2012), the first couple in the UK will be married in a legal civil ceremony right on Bournemouth’s award winning beach.   Frazer and Kate from Preston won a competition on Daybreak and there will be full coverage on Friday’s programme from 6am of the day’s events.   I am sure it was will be amazing day for them both and I imagine they are both getting very nervous and excited and I am keeping everything crossed that they get some sunshine on ‘the first beach wedding’ in the UK.  Also as a female I can’t wait to see what her dress is like, as well as her shoes.

UK Beach Weddings are also having an open weekend on Saturday 28 April (10-4) and Sunday 29 April (12-4) which I imagine will be very busy after Friday’s wedding.

I think it is fantastic that beach weddings are now happening in the UK.  So many brides opt for the destination wedding, but there are so many positives for staying in the UK for your wedding.  Not only will you have more friends and family there, you will be able to still jet off on honeymoon without those family and friends spending the next two weeks with you!  We all love our friends and family but it is nice to spend your first few days as a married couple alone and enjoying the magical feeling that it gives you.  Also as a bride you don’t want sunburn, mosquito bites or swollen ankles after the long flight on your wedding day!  If you are planning a destination wedding, ensure you allow three to four days to get acclimatised and for everything to settle down.
