PALACE WEDDING WITH A 1920’s TWIST IN THE HISTORICAL BAILGATE, LINCOLN
June 1, 2015
Donna first contacted me in January last year about the beautiful wedding she was planning. Shortly after this she had my ‘wedding planning kick start’ package and the rest is history shall we say…
A beautiful day with a few last minute arrangements (I really do love my job)! It was great to work with some of my favourite suppliers, including Jenny from Flower Barn, Estera from Kokoshka, Claire from CCs Wedding and Updo Hairstylists, Vow Bridal Gallery and David Lowerson Photography. It was also lovely to work with some new suppliers, Adam Acoustic, Adam from 78DJ and the Love Boat Captains.
Donna wanted a 1920’s theme without going overboard. Her dress was by Eliza Jane Howell (from Belle and Bouquet, Wellingore) and was so elegant, stylish and chic. Bridesmaid dresses were a beautiful shade of pink and all of them were the perfect mix of personalities for bridal prep, along with Estera and Claire.
Donna’s attention to detail was amazing and whole concept and venue looked just stunning. An early start for this wedding as there was lots to do in terms of setting up tables and props. Also delivering button holes to the church as well as bringing some flowers back. Homemade gin, vodka and jams were the wedding favours, all finished off with lots of photos around of Donna and Rob as well as a vintage guest book table complete with typewriter and telegrams.
The weather was very kind and so the Champagne and Canape Reception was held in the palace grounds with Adam playing acoustic guitar.
Jenny’s flowers were absolutely beautiful, the mantelpiece in the King Room at The Old Palace being incredible. Candles and mercury class jars just really added to the whole feel. The cake was made by Hannah’s (one of the bridesmaids) mum and was just perfect. Donna and Rob were piped in for their wedding breakfast and all guests enjoyed a beautiful meal followed by some brilliant speeches.
The Old Palace was transformed later on ready for their evening celebrations with stunning candlelight inside and out as well as brilliant music by the Love Boat Captains.
The pictures speak for themselves by David Lowerson. Such a great guy to work with, calm, professional, discrete and obviously a superb photographer.
