Thanks so much for taking the time to look at my website. My name is Amy Thorne, a Lincolnshire based multi award winning wedding planner working throughout the whole of the UK. I am calm, creative, supportive and super organised, yet friendly and approachable and can assist with any aspect of your special day so that you can just relax, enjoy and spend quality time with your family and friends. My ethos is that you are only as good as your last wedding which keeps me 3 steps ahead.
I still get butterflies the night before each of my weddings which shows how much I really care and that nothing will get forgotten. I am not pushy or bossy, it is your special day and I am here to assist / advise wherever needed. My knowledge and expertise in the wedding industry means I can be a real asset to your wedding planning journey whatever stage you are at, think of me as an ‘investment’. Lots of my lovely couples live overseas and need that ‘main point of contact’ in the UK to assist and coordinate everything and having that independent wedding professional can really help.
In 2022, I was lucky to receive the accolade / award of Wedding Planner of the Year UK in the Hospitality Awards 2022, hosted by LUXlife. In 2023 and 2024, I received the same accolade / award in the Corporate Live Wire Innovation and Excellence Awards.
After over 12 years in the wedding industry, I have had the opportunity to work on some exquisite and elegant weddings (over 250 now and all so different, yet beautiful). I have worked with varying budgets and have organised weddings at venues including hotels, golf resorts, village halls, town halls, railway stations, pavilions, abbeys, barn conversions, theatres, country houses / estates, stately homes, cathedrals, palaces and castles. However, the majority of my weddings are now marquees or tipis at family homes / farms / estates.
I cover the areas of Lincolnshire, Rutland, Vale of Belvoir, Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire, Cambridgeshire, Northamptonshire, as well as the whole of the UK. My Story…
Born and bred in Lincolnshire, with a 4 year period living in Spain, I now live in a small village, just 9 miles outside of the historic city of Lincoln, with my gorgeous daughter Gen (Genevieve) who is 11.
When I’m not planning weddings, I love to spend quality time with my partner – Mark, family and friends. I like to travel, indulge in beautiful food, as well as keeping fit with cycling and yoga. I am also in my third and final year of my BA (Hons) Heritage Interior Design, so watch this space with regards to this…
Prior to being a wedding planner, I worked as a PA (for around 15-20 years) within various companies, as well as organising high class VIP events including royal visits.
Amaranthyne Weddings officially launched at the beginning of 2012 after lots of studying (in wedding planning and interior design), research, work experience, hard work and tears. I finally realised in my mid 30’s that it was time to follow my dream career, a ‘creative’ trapped in a corporate world and I haven’t looked back since. I am passionate about all of my weddings and always strive to do my best to ensure an exquisite, elegant and exclusive occasion is created and executed. Lots of my couples end up as very good friends after investing in me for their wedding which is a true reflection of our connection / friendship throughout. A number of my weddings and styled shoots have appeared in blogs and magazines, including an ‘at home’ feature. I was also asked to be a guest speaker at the National Wedding Venues Conference in York in 2016.
