TEEPEE WEDDING, RUTLAND WATER

August 12, 2013

Alison first contacted me in October last year to provide on-the-day co-ordination for her wedding day on Saturday 10 August 2013 at the lovely Rutland Water Golf Course in a teepee.  Their teepee was supplied by Papakata and was a real talking point on the morning of the wedding as people were walking by.

During the morning, myself and the caterers (Nick and Amanda Healey) were busy getting everything set up for them.  I had to sort out their hay bales, reindeer skins, lights, bunting and suppliers as they arrived.  The flowers were absolutely stunning and looked beautiful in the teepee.  These were supplied by Sue Eggleston who used David Austen roses for the displays.

I visited Alison just after lunch at The Bull and Swan in Stamford to check she was OK and show her the photos of the set up so far.

For this wedding the Bride wanted me to stay at the Reception venue so unfortunately I missed out on their beautiful ceremony.

During the Drinks and Canapés reception guests could sit down on hay bales covered with reindeer skins.  Hurricane lamps were lit as well.  So different and effective.  Alison made the seating plan herself and also looked lovely stood on the hay bales.

Alison looked absolutely stunning.  Her hair had been done by Elizabeth Clare and make up by Rochelle O’Brien.  The Suzanne Neville dress (from her Diamond Collection) she chose suited her slim figure perfectly and the back was so lovely.  The bridesmaids were in mint green flowing chiffon dresses and looked beautiful.

The food provided by Nick and Amanda Healey was excellent.  For starters they had trio of salmon, followed by roasted Chateaubriand of Beef and for dessert Kiwi and Summerfruit Pavlova.

The band (All Night Long) booked through Function Central Entertainment that the couple had were absolutely brilliant and Alison and Alastair’s first dance was Al Brown, Lets Stay Together.

All in all a fantastic day.  Alison was a dream to work with and somebody I will keep in touch with.  I wish her and Alastair an amazing honeymoon in Provence.
