AMARANTHYNE WEDDINGS 2018 HIGHLIGHTS

January 5, 2019

What another incredible year it has been for Amaranthyne Weddings, I reached my sixth year of trading last April and have now worked on over 200 weddings.  Here are a few of my highlights.

During the year, I had the pleasure of being involved in around 30 beautiful weddings at the stunning Washingborough Hall Hotel, as well as assisting the lovely Lucy with wedding open evenings and organising their wedding open day.   I continue to assist with their marketing and love my role there.   A huge thank you goes to Lucy and Edward for letting me continue to be part of their amazing team!

On top of this, I had some beautiful freelance weddings through Amaranthyne Weddings including a gorgeous tipi wedding reception in rural Lancashire, as well as a beautiful marquee wedding reception in the Lincolnshire Wolds.  I was also involved in organising, planning and styling a photo shoot for the lovely Isabel and Chris at Hungerton Hall, close to the Vale of Belvoir, from which they have asked me to be part of the team for their marquee weddings they are planning to have.  Then there was ‘THE’ wedding of H&H (affectionately known as) at Washingborough Hall, an incredible wedding with an amazing couple who needed that extra wedding planning assistance.  Their wedding was featured in Brides Magazine as well as in Lincolnshire Life magazine.   I am genuinely lucky to have such great couples and people to work with, some of my lovely feedback I receive can be read here.

In November, as part of the team at Washingborough Hall Hotel we came in the top three for the Wedding Venue of the Year 2018 – Lincolnshire Life Taste of Excellence Awards, closely followed by Lincolnshire Wedding Venue of the Year 2018 – Wedding Dates.  We also won Best Wedding Hotel in the UK 2018 through the Best Loved Awards – a massive achievement and absolutely fabulous to be recognised nationally.  I’m still smiling at us receiving this accolade.

As well as working long hours and lots of weekends, I also managed to get a little bit more of a work / life balance, (somehow), which included a trip of a lifetime to Sri Lanka with my lovely family, as well as a yoga retreat to France where I met the most wonderful people and look forward to returning later this year.

Amazing family holiday to Sri Lanka.

Yoga Retreat in France through the lovely Amanda (Unique Yoga).

The house project is coming along slowly, in between working with my lovely couples on their weddings and running my business.   I love seeing the house come together for us all.  My office space is on the list for this year to make the most of the stunning view that it has.

2019 is looking like another fantastic year for me with around 30 beautiful weddings again at Washingborough Hall Hotel.  I am also working on a number of freelance weddings through Amaranthyne Weddings.  At the moment, these include a dome marquee in Lincolnshire, a lovely barn in Nottinghamshire, a marquee for a local businesses birthday celebration, a marquee on the Lincolnshire coast and a marquee in beautiful Rutland.  It certainly seems a year for marquee weddings, so fingers crossed we have a summer like last year.  A couple of other exciting opportunities are on the horizon which I can hopefully share with you very soon.

A huge thank you goes to all of the lovely couples that chose me to share in their wedding celebrations, to all of the great suppliers that created some amazing dream teams and to my tremendous husband and daughter for being so supportive and understanding (and my rocks).  Genevieve (even at the age of five) keeps me grounded and positive.  Jim works so hard as well (commuting to Nottingham every day, as well as working overseas sometimes), yet still manages to get doors hung and the garden under control, as well as keeping Genevieve entertained most weekends.  This support enables my business to continue to succeed, flourish and evolve and its reaches its seventh year in April.  With over 200 weddings now under my belt, I’ve pretty much seen everything when it comes to weddings.  I’m very excited to see how my business evolves this year, exciting times are certainly ahead.  Bring on 2019, I’m ready for you!
