MY IDEAL DESTINATION WEDDING DRESS

Dear all

With the horrible summer we are having, I would imagine that many Brides are thinking it may be worth planning a Destination Wedding.  With this in mind I have just found the perfect dress on Mori Lee’s website (style 6724).  This dress is the perfect choice for a Beach Wedding with its floaty Chiffon skirt, pleated halter neck and the stunning crystal beading is an elegant touch.  I absolutely love it and for me the back of the dress is as important as the front which is another reason why I think this dress is stunning.

Award-winning New York Designer, Madeline Gardner has been designing dresses for Mori Lee for over 17 years and a lot of the dresses certainly fit in with today’s modern and stylish brides.

When your h2b pops the question, the dress is the first thing you want to start looking for.  I know this is the case from my own experience, I think I actually tried on about 80 in the end!  Whether you find your perfect dress straight away or it does take a little longer below are some tips and advice about finding that perfect dress for your special day:-

  • Fix your wedding date before the hunt for your wedding dress begins.  The season can play a big part in the type of dress you choose.
  • Find and book your church / venue as it is important that your dress fits in.
  • Browse through magazines and start making notes of the designer’s you like as well as the styles, this will really help when you start looking around the bridal shops.  Start to make up a scrap book of your favourites, this will also help when it comes to choosing colours, flowers and a theme.
  • Take a couple of people with you who are honest.  It may seem a good idea to take all eight bridesmaids with you, but finding your wedding dress is quite personal and you need to make up your own mind.   A couple of friends who are honest and let you make the decision are the best option.
  • Ask them to take photographs of you in the wedding dresses; they do look different in photos.
  • If you do take your bridesmaids with you, ask them to try on some of the dresses if you can’t decide.  Sometimes seeing a dress on somebody else can make decision making easier and much more fun.
  • Try on a tiara with the dress to get an idea how it will look.
  • Sit down in the dress to see if it is comfortable.
  • Wear sensible nude coloured underwear and take a pair of heels with you.

And finally……. take your time, look through the photos, look at your venue, remember how you felt in the dress.  The dress can take quite a bit out of your wedding budget, so make sure it is ‘the one’ before you pay the deposit and order it.  If you have any doubts just try on a few more!

Finding your wedding dress is a really exciting part of planning your wedding and believe me when you do find ‘the one’ you won’t want to take it off.
