ROMANTIC LINCOLNSHIRE FARM WEDDING
August 17, 2016
A super sunny Saturday in July saw the gorgeous and elegant Lincolnshire Farm wedding of Janani and Matthew at the picturesque church in South Kyme, followed by a marquee wedding reception at Matthew’s uncles farm.
Jan first contacted me in February last year to enquire about wedding day management and assistance with finding some quality suppliers. It soon became apparent that due to their busy medical careers and location in Cambridgeshire that they required full wedding planning support. A bespoke package was put together for them and the full planning started for their beautiful wedding.
Why did you choose Amy as your wedding planner?
We knew we needed a wedding planner as we were planning from a distance and we both have busy jobs. Initially, we thought we would just need on the day wedding coordination and then quickly realised that we could use Amy’s expertise and guidance throughout the whole planning process. The reason we chose Amy was that she was so efficient, incredibly organised and took everything in her stride.
Jan’s vision was romance, elegance, floral heaven, neutrals, yet relaxing and fun. The location for their marquee reception was Matthew’s uncles farm, a beautiful location with lots of memories for Matthew. Making a farm location elegant and romantic could have been a challenge, but using natural surroundings and mixing it with an elegant and timeless vibe is something I love to do. This and the fact that Jan was an absolutely dream to work with made it into my top 3 of weddings planned. Whilst Jan and Matthew had the vision, they were also practical in the fact that they wanted people to have enough space in the marquee, having larger tables for people to have room and lots of beautiful lighting, great food, cake and to be totally pampered on the morning of her wedding.
Jan’s stunning Pronovias dress and cathedral length veil were simply breathtaking, the dress, veil, jimmy choos and makeup and hair team brought Jan’s natural beauty out, such a beautiful girl whose smile says it all.
Natural products from the farm played a part on their beautiful wedding stationery (created by the lovely Yvonne) as well as on their wedding favours. Such attention to detail for this wedding with those little touches that only close family and friends notice, the best kind (totally personal to the couple, yet discrete and understated).
Jan’s main focus was the floral side and as soon as we met with Shirley at S&A Floral Design it was a match made in heaven. Shirley soon realised Jan’s vision and her dream was really created including the most gorgeous floral arch and floral garden at the church.
What did you enjoy most about working with Amy?
Amy went over and above the call of duty in planning our wedding. Her dedication to our wedding and the calm she brought to me when I was worrying were her best attributes.
The day was just stunning, the perfect day in every way. It was a very busy week on the lead up to their wedding, as with every marquee wedding, the whole venue has to be built and months of planning takes shape before your eyes. So much work in a few short days but one I will cherish always.
Having the ‘master plan’ for the day was key to ensure everything happened on schedule. I also had 60 lanterns to light in the marquee (with the help of my lovely husband). Suppliers had to be greeted, everyone briefed, triple checking tables, following Jan’s dad to the church and bringing him back so he had a car there, putting throws on hay bales, pamper kit in the toilets, vacuuming the marquee, being at the church and delivering the order of service, allocating and pinning buttonholes, in charge of the ceremony music, making sure the drinks reception drinks were prepped, the list is absolutely endless. The buzz of a wedding day is incredible and a big thank you goes to Vicky for helping me on the day.
What part of your wedding day did you most enjoy?
The ceremony. The church looked absolutely beautiful due to our floral stylist’s hard work; I will always remember the fragrance of the flowers. It was such a thrill to stand up in front of our friends and family to make our commitment to each other.
After their beautiful ceremony at the Church, their marquee reception was everything Jan and Matthew wanted it to be, a celebration with family and friends and it is just the absolute perfect setting. Phil Hearing got some amazing photographs using the beauty of the natural surroundings as well as the beauty of the created marquee. A selection of the stunning images are below (including the Jimmy Choo shot above):-
