ELIZABETH STUART FALL 2014 RUNWAY SHOW
April 14, 2014
I first met Elizabeth Stuart in June 2012 and did my first Blog on her in July 2012 – where has that time gone! So as you can imagine I was absolutely thrilled to be invited to this event as I have loved Elizabeth’s dresses for the past couple of years. Unfortunately I missed out on seeing her collection last year as it was literally two weeks before I gave birth to my little girl and I didn’t want to risk adding another contingency plan!
Back in my blog in July 2012, I said “Elizabeth Stuart is going to be one of the most iconic wedding dress designers there is. Just pure quality, beauty, style and elegance” – I think I have been proved right.
The new Fall collection ‘The Enchantment of The Seasons’ was showcased at Victoria House on Sunday 6 April 2014 and was simply stunning. Penny Cullen of Love Scarlett styled the event and did an absolutely amazing job capturing what Elizabeth’s dresses are about. Their new collection is alongside Cancer Research UK, where Elizabeth has designed and created beautiful ‘Vines of Hope and Love’ Favour pins which I blogged about in January.
The Fall collection is breathtaking and it was so refreshing to see lovely blush. peach and gold tones used as well as traditional ivory / white. All the dresses were beautiful in their own way, but I have to admit my favourite was Moonflower, closely followed by Petal. Willow was very beautiful as well and I can imagine it as the perfect dress for a medieval / castle style wedding, so simple and elegant yet regal and majestic.
The catwalk images below were taken by the very talented Catherine Mead.
The thing I have always liked about Elizabeth’s dresses is the fact that the Bride is wearing the dress rather than the dress wearing the bride. The fabrics just glide and the romantic colours are really heavenly.
The whole event was superb from beginning to end, fantastic sparkling wine (Digby Fine English), cake pops in the same blush tones as the dresses (The Abigail Bloom Cake Company), stunning flowers (Wildabout and Elizabeth Marsh Floral Design), excellent music (Urban Soul Orchestra) and the photobooth was great fun (Boothnation). There is so much more to mention and everyone involved did such a great job. The goody bag was also superb.

Anyway I could keep on writing about this event, but I think the pictures speak for themselves. Just beautiful and stunning, what every Bride should be.
